Multilayer Barrier Films
The advance of barrier films has ushered in a revolution in food packaging. Packaging made with multilayer barrier films keep aromas out or in, and provide a barrier to oxygen or other gases or moisture to ensure shelf life.
APG helps you to design coextruded films of up to 12 layers to fine tune the barrier characteristics best suited to your application. The precise recipe begins with a proper resin selection that balances all the performance characteristics of EVOH, nylon, Polyethylene, Polypropylene and many other engineered materials. We provide custom films suited to nitrogen flush, vacuum-packing, or any other packaging technology available. Multilayer films also can be designed for applications that requires very high mechanical resistance. Our specialty is developing the new films that are required for the latest packaging innovations and we look forward to providing solutions for those not yet even conceived.

Air cooled Multilayer (blown films) are available in 9 layers. Air cooled films are best suitable for symmetric structures, where medium or high barrier and high mechanical properties are needed.
Film gauges are available from 50 to 250 microns and widths from 30 to 2200 mm.

Water Cooled 8 Layers
– Medium Barrier films:

Water cooled Multilayer films are available in 8 layers. Water cooled films are best suitable for asymmetric structures, where medium or high barrier and high mechanical properties are needed, plus excellent optical and thermoformability properties.
Film gauges are available from 50 to 250 microns and widths from 30 to 2200 mm.
